Subject and location

The Tesserete branch is the most important of the three branches of today’s Raiffeisen Bank of Cassarate.

It is located in the heart of the village, a place of transit, of meetings, a fact of daily life.

The building has always played a key role in the community and over the years it has undergone many transformations. The most recent works have radically affected the ground floor and partially changed the layout of the second floor, born from the client’s need to change its sales model to a consulting bank, more flexible, professional and open to customers.

The design objectives can be summarized in three points:

The desire to improve the welcome and the use of space.
Greater transparency and openness to the outside world, to the square and to the people who live there.
To bring more natural light into the ground floor.

These objectives have been realized thanks to a single façade element that characterizes the entire transformation project, defining its path and its new spatiality. The vertical metal slats embrace the entire exterior façade, characterizing it and making it a decorative element that accompanies the user along the entire path that leads him from the outside to first perceive and then discover the interior spaces. The obvious curvature of the façade, in contrast to the massive existing masonry, softens and emphasizes the entrance while defining the interior spaces.

Finally, the light that we have been able to bring into the interior generates the space, highlights the simple and clear materials, gives rhythm, punctuates the spaces and brings balance to the structure.

Table of contents

Ground floor:

As described, the wall in glass and vertical metal slats marks the path and defines the interior spaces.

In sequence, we find the 24-hour ATM in the entrance lobby, the two Selfcash ATM stations behind the sliding door to our left, and a large cabinet in front of us defining the welcome desk and customer waiting area. Separated and defined by the vertical metal slat wall is the short consultation lounge that houses an interactive screen.

First floor:

Timely interventions provided four consultation rooms, the back office reserved for staff, and a new vertical oak slat wall that defines the second floor arrival area and separates the dining area.
